The journey begins in the temperate waters of Vancouver Island, where Gordon rediscovers his passion for diving among kelp forests and curious seals.
With the purchase of the weathered fishing boat Dease Isle, Gordon and his partner set out across the wild waters of British Columbia. Their mission: harvest abalone from the rocky ocean floor while navigating storms, mechanical failures, and the unpredictable forces of nature.
The journey eventually leads far north to the frozen waters of Churchill, Manitoba. Here, Gordon faces one of the most dangerous environments imaginable—diving beneath thick ice in zero-visibility waters while repairing structures deep below the surface.
